Quote
“Like panning for gold or winning the lottery, the likelihood of any golf course producing even a single hole capable of attracting national attention is slim at best. So there was understandable excitement this spring in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., where the unveiling of the new $5.5-million Crimson Ridge course revealed not one, but two potential Canadian signature holes.”
– Brian Kendall, “Ten Holes to Remember” The Globe and Mail, September 18, 2002
“We’re already using photos of the 17th hole to attract conventions and other business because it fits so well with our city slogan: ‘Naturally Gifted.’ These two signature holes (the 17th and 18th holes) will put us on the map of Canadian golf. We feel like we’ve hit the jackpot.”
– Ian McMillan, Sault Ste. Marie’s Director of Tourism from Brian Kendall, “Ten Holes to Remember”, The Globe and Mail, September 18, 2002
Our Challenge
Located in the Canadian Shield, significant elevation changes, erosion prone slopes and steep valley walls necessitated extensive coordination, planning and co-operation with the local conservation authority to maintain the integrity of Davignon Creek – a cold water creek that winds across the property.
