INFLUENCES
Since playing in sandboxes, I have pursued my vision of shaping the earth to make dreams come true. For me, this involves strategic golf planning/design which capitalizes on the unique spirit and potentials of each site. It involves creative problem solving which integrates developer, user and environmental goals fully with the site, to create respectful design solutions. Making golf visions a reality also involves delivering the right product to market at the right time - be it a signature golf course, a lifestyle community or a golf resort development. My inspiration derives from the great Masters of golf design who relentlessly pushed the boundaries of their work - in pursuit of the personal risks, rewards and experience of great places to play.
FAVOURITE GOLF COURSE
I have played dozens of golf courses throughout North America. There are many special qualities/features which distinguish each course, but for me, none more special than Harbourtown Links at Hilton Head. This course visibly expresses my dream of working with nature to create a web of life suitable for human, plant and wildlife communities. It also demonstrates my entrepreneurial, holistic approach to golf course/community planning and design – unique, authentic, memorable places for golf enthusiasts to visit, live, work and play.
